Down the road I'm going to want a CLI from Chase on my FU. I'm also considering the Amazon VS, so the answer to this would be a significant factor in that as well.
Which is best? Both in success with Chase and credit reporting.
Thanks all!
To me there's no point in opening a new card that you don't need just to get a CLI. Then you get a HP and a new account.
Why not just go for the HP CLI and see what happens? If it fails, then you can go for the new account.
Requesting in branch vs calling for a CLI won't have any impact on the decision. It's going to the same group of underwriters regardless.

- Call and request a CLI
- Go in-branch and request a CLI
- Open a new card and fold-in the CLI to my old one and close out the new one
Thanks all!
I forget, are your cl's low because of your account age / your age? you do not want to take a hp on that fu. questions: do you travel or do you plan to and when you look at the freedom 5% card are the quarterly categories of interest to you, can you make use of them? I think you do need some depth to your file, you just need to go about it in the right way so had over the details of your profile

Best is a relative term, it all depends on your profile and history with Chase.
If it is short and your limits are low, maybe apply to CSP you know if approved will be a $5,000 card, no AF at first good bonus (up to 75,000 UR in branch with AU) if you can use it for $4,000 in 3 months, then transfer some limit and PC to Freedom for 5% categories.
Other option is to wait some more, increase your Discover limit, apply for an Amex and make that grow with SP CLIs. You can easily have Discover and Amex over $5,000 in less than a year (if your reports are good). Good luck.

^^^mind reader! note the 75K is a highly targeted offer and not they will not match, or at least not yet lol

Yes, thank you. I read that maybe is only intended for few private clients.
Considering that CSR is 100K in branch until March 11th, then 50K or 60K for private clients, CSP at 75K is a great deal.

Yup. No baddies ever, just 3 HP's on each CR and a crummy AAoA. I keep looking at the Freedom as well, but having Amazon 5% year-round is worth more to me right now. I'm open to other suggestions as well; I wish Cap1 had a card the interested me but their best is essentially the same as the FU.

I do prequal at Amex for BCE, it just doesn't earn me a ton for my spending. Honestly, for the amount I spend, an extra 1% here or there isn't enough to entice me.
