Please do not open any more credit cards until AFTER you close on your mortgage in March. Lenders do not like to see that you are actively seeking credit in the 6-12 months prior to your mortgage, and this could impact your rates/approval.
After you close, feel free to try for a GE card if that's what you're after. Amazon store card, Walmart, PayPal, etc.; GE is great about growing credit lines quickly, and you could get to $4-5000 within a year or so.
I would also hold off on any more applications until after the bankruptcy falls off in August. After that, feel free to go on a major app spree for the cards you really want, as opposed to just apping to get a card with a > $5000 CL. With your income and a clean credit report, you are poised to get prime approvals with good limits on your choice of cards.
Good luck. ![]()

+1 you shouldn't app for any new CCs within 6 mos of getting a mortgage. After you close, you can app without a problem.
I can understand your sense of urgency. I felt the same way. But I gardened and have done very well thanks to the advice I got here.
Good luck with your recon!

Lol. I was shocked to see this on page 1 this morning. Looks like someone posted a blank message and brought us Christmas in March!
LOL...You closed on your house?
You should definitely send an email to CapOne EO to see about a nice increase...
