Chase Sapphire cardholder eligible for preferred bonus?

Greetings. Considering the preferred (or possibly PRG) to sit next to AMEX BCP in my wallet.  Currently holding Sapphire, would I qualify for any bonus points if I apply for the Preferred?  Reading the fine print it says only for new customers. So would that apply to me?  Does new customer refer to someone who has never applied for the Preferred card?  Thanks

I believe you can apply for the CSP and still get the sign-up bonus. You can always call ahead of time to confirm.
