Because of lack of history on my credit report (got BOA on 2013 Jan), I got rejected
Even I asked for them to reconsider
They told me that they want to see more credit history.. They were only be able to see BOA secured card even though I've been using Discover it for around 2 month
Now.. Option would be
1) Call them again and ask for them to recon
2) wait tlil December to build up some credit history
3) maybe apply for another credit card?
Any opinion?
pretty sure when they say they want to see history, it means 6-1yr acc.
the discover it account looks more bad than good in their books (new acc)
why do you want slate anyways? its a balance transfer card with reward whatsoever... and from the limits you have, you won't have much balance to transfer anyways...
if it's a build relationship with chase thing... they never give anyone credit with shorter than 6-1yr history.. i had my boa 123 card for 8mos and applied for freedom a while back and it was a fat denial for same reason.
Card looks cool and I just wanted to build up some credit with chase
and wanted to get more card before I go out of country for 90 days..
Now... Well ... till December I will just cake care of my 3 cards and maybe apply for Chase sapphire or something... hopefully..

Like others said, give it time, and see what you want out of a card. But, if at all, shoot for the Freedom (after developing history) as that's considered an "in" with Chase.
ALSO: There are other pretty cards that are able to do more for you
Just out of curiosity, do you guys recommend applying BOA Travel Rewards for Student card while using BOA Secured 1-2-3 Reward card?
