The slate is great for carrying a balance and that is about it. I agree with the others though, if you are thinking Sapphire then you may want to app in a branch and possibly get a better bonus.
I actually regret getting my Slate. At the time, I was in the midset that I will get it in case I want to carry a balance. I should have waited until I actually needed it. Now it is just sitting there collecting dust.

Yes azguy13, it looks as though one misses the whole point of this card if one doesn't complete one's BT's within the first 90 days of use.
It was a mistake that I have learned from and that is why I share it. I do not want the same to happen to anyone else. This situation seems like it warrants the slate though

Yes, I appreciated the warning, azguy13! I just completed the online offer for Slate, and was approved for 5 K, which is my highest Chase CL (Amazon is $1,500, and Freedom is $3,300):

Congrats on the excellent CL. Not only will you put the card to use, but that is the step you most likely needed to start growing you other CLs as well!
Way to go!!! IMHO I would take their suggestion and imply that this credit line doesn't suit my needs and see if I could squeeze a few more pennies out of them...only if it doesn't result in another HP of course!!!
