How hard is it to get the Chase United Explorer Card? Anyone know what Fico score is needed for this card?
My FICO score is 704 for EQ. I'm at around 36% for overrall UTL with 3 cards reporting balances and 5 cards with 0 balance. Out of the 3 cards with balances, one is at 93% UTL, the other 2 below 50% UTL.
Should I pay down the 93% UTL or pay off the 50% UTL cards?
I have no negatives on my credit report. I have never missed a single payment. I have total 8 cards, oldest card is 11 years and newest is 4 years old.

I'd pay down those cards unless you have a GOOD explanation for why they are so high. Chase can be touchy with high UTIL and excessive INQ if your FICO is borderline. You will also need to qualify for at least a 5k line to get the card.
I should pay down all my cards or should I focus on the one with 93% UTL? Obiviously I would like to pay off all of them, but due to budget restrictions, I cannot. Should I aim for all cards below 50% UTL since I currently at 36% for my overrall UTL.
i applied 2x when i applied i had under 5% util 2 AMEX Charge and i AMEX revolver with a 20k limit, 2 cap 1 with 2k limits.
i alos had a chase motage.
They stated that my late payments from 2007 was the reason.
i wanst really happy with chase so i apped for citi approved for a their word elite card and moved my accounts over.
my scored were around 700 at the time

I was approved (on recon) with scores in the mid 600s, probably 6 or 7 inqs, old student loan lates (but there are a lot of them and the original reason for my denial), and 6 accounts opened in the last year. They only gave me a CL of $1K .
About a year ago, I got United with 5k and credit score about 700 and a salary around 100k.
Chase tries to approve people for the Visa Signature version most of the time. They usually will approve others for the Platinum version if the app is recon'd. Chase loves handing out those Siggy cards as they make a higher rate on the transaction.
