In that case your payments would be applied as follows:
Interest payments first
Then to bt balance
Only after bt is paid off will any of your payment reduce your purchase balance. It is a very expensive and bad idea to have a purchase balance on any card that also has a bt balance, unless both are at the same interest rate.
