Chase credit card

I recently applied for the chase sapphire credit card, which was a little naive since my credit scores are EQ 652, EX 652, and Trans 668. I called and asked why I was denied & they said the reason was because of limited credit history so they advised me to apply for the chase freedom card. I haven't called yet to see if I was denied, but I would like some advice as to what to do.

Thanks

Re: Chase credit card

I'm a little confused --did you go ahead and apply for the Freedom, and you're now wondering if you were approved?

If so, go ahead and call, but don't be surprised if they are clueless. Chase seems remarkably disorganized in its approval process. It often takes several weeks to get the card in the mail (which seems to be the only way to know for sure that you were approved), and another poster just wrote that it took him (her?) more than a month. :smileysurprised:

I agree that calling may or may not provide you with any useful information. I applied for their Hyatt card in Feb. And got the 7-10 day notice. I waited a couple of days and called the automated system and it said I would receive a letter in 7-10 days. Called and talked to someone in underwriting and was informed that it could take 30 days for a decision. Two weeks later it showed up when I logged in to my accounts and a week later the Card showed up in the mail.

Re: Chase credit card

Chase automated system took 4 days to start saying approved for my BA visa sig which was instantly approved online. When I had talked to one of their analysts earlier this year for my other chase card (freedom), they said it normally takes about 7-8 days for someone to review the application.

Re: Chase credit card

Thanks everyone, its not really a matter if I got approved because I know that chase is the only one who can actually give me that info, but its more on what I should do if I don't get approved. What other card should I apply for. I am trying to get a credit card & my dad told me to try for chase since he has one but I am not too sure they will give me one

Apologies if I sound confused, but, are you saying you have no other credit card account?

Re: Chase credit card

You may want to look at something like citi Forward since you have auth account with them already and Home Depot which is also Citi.

Just 2 credit cards on your report is probably to thin for Chase's liking.

Re: Chase credit card

I guess I'll try that, hopefully soon I can add another credit card to my small collection. Thanks again!
