Chase freedom--> visa sig help..

So, I contacted chase via secure message to have my freedom converted to a visa sig..they escalated to a specialist and I had to wait 10days to received a mail from them. Today I received the letter and the letter say that they can't accommodate my request right now. And the letter suggested me to apply for another freedom .... And if I am approved I can keep both or close the other one. What is the meaning of this ? My freedom will be 1 year old in 9 days, my limit on it is $7400. Any suggestions on what I can do to have it converted to a visa sig?. Also I have pif all my chase accounts and other non chase accounts.. Never late/ no baddies nothing.

Re: Chase freedom--> visa sig help..

Last month I received notice of an auto-CLI ($1k) bringing me to $5.5k total CL.  After doing so sent SM to have my freedom upgraded to VS and like you it took several days, several SMs and hearing no a couple of times before getting it upgraded.  Still no can tell why initially it was a no.  Did not get a suggestion to apply for another freedom.  Perhaps they looked at your internal limit and realized they wouldn't give you a CLI?  Only thing I can think of.

I do not understand, they say they can accomodate you however they want you to apply? that sounds so confusing

I think OP meant "can't", otherwise it would be very confusing.

IMO, try calling the backdoor and talk to someone else again as you may get something different...

I didn't think it was possible to have two Freedom cards? This whole situation sounds strange.

Thats what the letter I received said. it suggests me to apply for another freedom ( a visa signature one) and if I am approve I can keep the freedom I currently have or close it. But I just wanted to convert my existing freedom to a visa sig Smiley Sad

Re: Chase freedom--> visa sig help..

Don't waste your time with CSRs or secure messages--they'll always say you don't qualify for the upgrade and that you need to apply for another Freedom.

Just email the executive office and they'll make it happen.

I can't post the email address here because it's supposed to be a big secret. PM me and I'll send it to you.

Re: Chase freedom--> visa sig help..

Only thing I can think of is that your current freedom card is a mastercard and not visa.... If that is the case, then they can't convert it and you need to apply for a new Visa (sig) version in order to get it. If you have a Visa already, then it makes no sense. When I hit 6k, I called and had it converted immediately without any issues. Good luck.
