Chase freedom signature...

So my freedom card received an Auto CLI this week and after speaking with CS they informed me I should receive my new visa signature freedom card in the mail this week, did not receive it. I called this morning to follow up and I was informed that if i wanted the visa signature I would need to product change to the Freedom Unlimite. Anyone deal with this before? I am not interested in the freedom Unlimite as I already have a 1.5 percent cash back card and eventually plan on apping for the CSP next spring.

Re: Chase freedom signature...

Never dealt with this exact situation but it doesn't surprise me that Chase is handling it this way. It has been made pretty clear since the rollout of the Freedom Unlimited that Chase is trying/hoping people ditch the traditional Freedom for the Unlimited. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about the Signature status - if you want to keep the 5% traditional Freedom it isn't worth giving that up for the Unlimited just to get a Signature. Just my two cents...do as you wish.

Cheers!

Re: Chase freedom signature...

I don't plan on getting rid of the traditional freedom. For me personally the quarterly catogries are worth keeping. I was hoping for the visa signature because a lot of the hotels I'll be staying at in the next coming months would give me the free upgrade and 25 dollar credit

Re: Chase freedom signature...

Yes, that happened to me when I asked and received a CLI from 4k to 6K. After getting the CLI, I called back and the CSR said I could have a Signature but I would have to PC to FU. Which I did because they would not give my FREEDOM Signature status.

Losing the rotating categories didn't bother me because I have Discover.

Re: Chase freedom signature...

I wouldn't mind if I had a discover. Discover shows me no love so I have given up on apping for them. For me I personally gain more with my traditional freedom. I've been lucky enough for the catogries to really line up with spending habits, vacations and Christmas shopping and what not

Re: Chase freedom signature...

I was declined by Discover as well. Got approved on my third try when my files became baddie free. My EQ was at I think 694 when they approved me.

Re: Chase freedom signature...

I have two baddies that don't come off until 2019...so yeah discover loves bringing that up for the denial even if my fico scores are hovering around the 690s now across the 3 CB

IF your end goal is the CSP than the FU is going to be way better than the Capital one QS or whatever else it is. That FU is 1.5% in Chase UR points which can be transfered to the CSP. You can always app later for the Freedom as well as long as you're below the 5/24 rule.

That score is still borderline for approval anyways and just using that as denial reason is easy for them....

I got approved with a pre-approval from them in the mailer. Gave me a set APR of 18.49% and basically said any income over $10,000 would be an approval if i remember the mailer... I actually still have it somewhere lol.
