Chase inactive account question

I have a similar question.  I have heard it said that with most CC that have and annual fee, the issuer is less likely to close due to inactivity.  Any truth to this rumor?

It wOuld be very nice if they did that for all accounts.

An AF is activity. So yes, a card with an AF would be less likely to close due to inactivity.

An AF is activity. So yes, a card with an AF would be less likely to close due to inactivity.


+1.

 

Also a card that has an AF, makes up for the non-zero servicing charge associated with even an unused account.  When dealing with accounts on the order of a Chase, an Amex, or a BOFA, that adds up and is more likely to be a factor in a purge.

That's what i was hoping. I was thinking that an annual fee would be "free" money to the issuer and they would like to keep that going.

i talkedt o underwriting today about this very subject since i have no intention of using the mastercard side of my militarystar card. you have a 24 mont period before they close your account due to inactivity.
