Chase is such a pleasure!

I say that with sarcasm! I inquired about a CLI. I've had the card since July (Freedom) It has a 1000 CL. BofA converted me to signature so I wanted them to match my BofA line of 5000 so as not to hurt my UTL. My credit score is 709 FICO EQ. I called to recon because of course they declined. I got declined on the recon not ever for a 500 increase. They are saying that I have to many new accounts opened this year and they don't see enought history yet to see how I'm going to handle my recent credit that is extended. OMG how long with I have a 1000 CL with them? BofA increased my 1000 to 5000 after 4 months. I don't get it. I keep my balances low, always PIF, never late, not one single baddie on my CR. I have 2 mortgages and make 80,000 a year. A paid off never late car note and a current car note. She said I had 7 inquires I said well yeah I have 7 new credit card accounts!! Somebody tell me it gets better.

On a lighter note, after I hung up with Chase I called Orchard to cancel my account and I swear I spoke with the same Mod cut woman named Bonnie. I think they answer for multiple ccc's. Also I couldn't get my AF fee waived of $59 so I closed. I was hoping to leave open since it's my oldest account but they would not waive the AF. Wondering how everyone else was able to get it waived. Did Bonnie recognize me form Chase?

Edited to remove an unnecessary reference to a nationality.

They like you. I have been stuck at $900 for years now. By far my lowest CL.

Re: Chase is such a pleasure!

You say have been with them since July I presume 2011  not enough payment history with them.  The concern is what you might do with all that new credit. Some people go and run up a signifigant amount of debt and then cannot pay it and filing BK.  Creditors like Chase are being very conservative in the environment.  I have been with Chase for 5 years no CLI's and I have higher FICO scores.

Re: Chase is such a pleasure!

You've had the card, at maximum, 73 days.  Of course they're going to deny you a CLI.

Re: Chase is such a pleasure!

Maybe asking for a CLI with such a new account is unreasonable but I'd say a 1000 CL is unreasonable especially when other CCC's offer higher and are much more flexible. Can't use that CL much or it will push you UTL up too much so I'll just sock drawer it and use my AMEX and BofA. Seems as if, according to the previous poster, even after 5 years I'll still be touting my little 1000 CL even though all my other CL's are considerably higher.

Re: Chase is such a pleasure!

I've had the Chase Amazon card since July of LAST year.  I still have the same original $1000 limit that I got initially, not even a single dollar increase.  Always paid my bill off, and credit scores in the high 740s.

I'm done using the card, and they are done getting my business.  Even my brand new AmEx has a $2,000 limit and I have no history with them, and my BoA card is $4000.

Re: Chase is such a pleasure!

BoA gave you a CLI from $1k to $5k after 4 months, but Chase is supposed to give you a CLI after ~2 months?  Also, util is only reported if you don't pay by the day the statement cuts.  So, you could charge $1k/$1k and pay it so that 0% util gets reported.

I guess I don't understand the logic behind one lender giving you X, so a completely different lender should give you something equivalent to X.

Re: Chase is such a pleasure!

well not to ruffle but lets also look at that you do have two mortgages and a car so when combined with the other cc debt maybe its debt to income. 80k is nice but it isnt all about scores these days with lenders. While the noose is slightly looser than it has been they are still being cautious and asking the right questions in my opinion.

Take a deep breathe, work that card a little and I say you see a nice CL sooner than you expect

Keep in mind that Chase saw this:

7 new CC, 2 mortgages, car payment, and an almost immediate CLI request.

And might have thought this:

Person who needs CCs to stay afloat because of three large monthly payments.
