Chase keeps sending WRONG replacement card.

So I product changed my WaMu ESPN Visa to a chase Freedom.  I was told I would receive a new card.  I received a chase rewards card so I called and spoke with a csr that said to not activate it and wait because my freedom card was on the way.  Well, the card never came so I called last week and was told that a new card would be mailed out.  Today, the new card arrived and once again it is a rewards card and not the Freedom card.  Should I just acctivate it and just say forget it or should I call back again and attempt to find a csr that isnt outsourced from another county and that can potentially understand what i'm trying to say????  Smiley Mad

Me, too. I switched from Wamu to Chase Freedom and keep getting sent a card that says Rewards. My account on line says ChaseFreedom. At this point I have tried three times and have almost resigned myself to being happy with this card.

One of these Chase threads has a special number in it to reach a product change specialist. Have you tried calling that number? I would. As for activating the card I really don't know what difference it would make one way or the other, but maybe it would be better if you held off for leverage purposes. It's hard to claim you are irritated when you just plunked down that card you didn't want to make some charges.

I did call that number....this the product change.  My online account says Freedom, but the replacement cards they are sending do not.

My wife and I have 3 Chase accounts as individuals.  Each is for a different rewards program.  You might think we would have 6 differernt physical credit card designs.  We have four designs.  For me card color is often more important than design because the color makes it easier to select the correct card from my wallet.

 

Congrats on the conversion.

At least I know I'm not the only one with that lil problem. In fact I never got a card since the product change on 03-06. Recently I got a letter, and phone call bout product change and new cards will be mailed to me.

 

Next day UPS sends me overnight mail from Chase Flexible rewards card. Called back complaining... next day new card arrives. Lord and Behold Flexible rewards card. 

 

Account indicates Freedom, but card indicates it's a Flexible Rewards card. 

 

This has been a TOTAL Nightmare. Now I got 2 flexible rewards cards... Sockdrawered... Smiley Mad

I may be wrong, but I would definitely give precedence to what the account shows, not what is printed on the card. As long as Chase treats everything you do with that card as if it were done with a regular Freedom card, you should be fine.

 

 

Edit: It might be worth to just use the card. If I am right and this is a Freedom card that just looks different, your countdown of 6 months that you get 3% rewards is running. After that, it will revert to a regular 1% rewards cards, anyway.

Spoke to them today, they recoding their systems so new freedom cards will be issued. They fully aware of our concerns and, are getting it remedied.

 

I get the point bout the precedence, but it's really odd that whenever I complaint bout it (6 times)... they always recommended to close the account and have it merged with my flexible rewards visa.

 

Are they sending out sum kind of hint there...Smiley Wink

Same thing here.   Converted my WaMu Platinum to Chase's PerfectCard.    New card arrived, very plain jane.. not the one shown on the PerfectCard info page.   But my account definitely is accumulating the correct rewards, so I can live with the physical card design.

 

Sidenote.. spoke to a rep shortly after converting to the PerfectCard, and I mentioned to her that there was no longer an easily accessible link on Chase's site for that card.   If you do a search, you can find it, but it's not offered on the credit card categories page.    I asked if they were phasing that card out.  She stated they were revamping a large portion of their credit card offerings, and products would be changing quite a bit in the upcoming months.   It'll be interesting to see how that turns out.

Well, atleast I know its not just me.  I guess I will activate the rewards card and call back later.  Hopefully that will get it straight by then.  Robot Mad
