Re: Chase pre-appoved site credibility??

From what was said by a CSA today - if you've got a Chase pre-approval, then unless you've got something bad that only appears in a hard pull its a pretty high chance of approval.

CK TU FAKO - 762, TU FICO - 781, EX Fako 734, EX FICO 764 - 3/29/2014

It will always pre approve you for the slate.

No this is not accurate. I have tried it before and I never have a card pop up even though my profiles are open to offers etc. I have been able to obtain instant approvals for multiple chase cards though even without offers showing up.

Slate is mostly a BT card whereas Freedom is a 5% cash back card

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

+1 It really depends on your needs. Each card does has a different focus.

Re: Chase pre-appoved site credibility??

I think an offer is a good indicator.
However, I have NEVER received any pre qualified or pre approved offers from Chase, and I've been approved on recon for a $5k Freedom, as well as later instantly approved for a $6k CSP and $25k Marriott Premier. LOL
So it not being there certainly does not mean you will be denied.
Marriott PR$25k | BCE $24.5K |BankAmericard Visa $25k| BOA Better Bal $17.5k |Wmt Discover $12.5k | BR Visa $17.5k | Amex Delta Gold $10k | Discover IT $10k | Paypal Extras MC $15k | Amazon Store $10k|Smile Gen $7.25k | Dillard's $10k | West Elm $4k| Express $3.05K | Mypoints.com Visa $4.5k | Freedom Visa $1k| Amex Surpass $1k

First you have to figure whats right for you

Do you have balances and need a BT card?

Will cash back be better for my spending habits

Because you see pre-approval is not a reason to app a card that doesn't reward you?

So underwriting should also be considered based on the card of YOUR choice and not will I be approved based on underwriting and a pre-approval

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?
