Chase recon resulted in HP

I applied for Chase Freedom on 1/25/13 and was denied. Called backdoor twice but was denied again because of lack of history(I have just 8 months of history). There was no HP then. I didn't receive any letter from Chase since then. Called their automated number 800-436-7927 and it said your application is still pending for further review. I spoke to a CSR and he asked me to contact 888-270-2127. I called yesterday and spoke to a lady. Asked her about the status and requested her to reconsider my application. She put me on hold for 5 min and came back said she can't approve my application because I have recently opened new accounts. I said OK and thought she might have done SP and hung up. Today morning, I got an alert from Credit karma that there is a new HP in my report. It was from Chase. I Was psst!! and called the same number again and spoke to the lady and told her I was not asked if they are going to do HP before recon. She apologised and told me that she will ask CRA to remove that enquiry from my report. They only pulled TU this time.

Chances are because it was over a month since you applied they had to do a hard pull to get more up to date information. They should have told you before hand, or you could have request before hand that they didn't do one.

The best backdoor number to call is 888-245-0625. The number I called was app reconsideration dept. When I asked CSR what is the status of my application since it is pending since more than a month?, he asked me to contact 888-270-2127. It is better to call the first number to be on the safer side.
