Chase sapphire preferred- Should I apply

I really want to apply for a CSP, but don't want to get denied. I have a CC through a credit union with a 2,000 limit. I have a car loan and a rental property. My CS on Experian 748 (Fako) and on TU and EQ are both about 720. I also have student loans but they are deferred. No baddies except for a late pay in 2008 (30 day). Do I have a chance...

Re: Chase sapphire preferred- Should I apply

Personally, I would say no for two reasons:  No current CC in your file close to 5k CL & 30 day late.

You need to find a card (Visa) that will get you close to a 5k CL, perhaps from a CU, then that will certainly help your chances for a recon.

I think I'll ask for a CL for the CC I already have, hopefully that would put me on the right track.
