I would say freedom you get cash back and if you have a checking account its even better....sign up is around $100 after spending $500. Slate you dont get anything

Freedom over slate.  Rewards over no rewards.

Re: Chase slate or freedom?

Slate is mainly a BT card. No rewards. No benefit. I'd go for the Freedom.

As of 2017, rebuilding...

Re: Chase slate or freedom?

Freedom gets my vote allthough my limit is a toy amount, mostly because I'm rebuilding my credit.I like the freedom also for the benefits such as reward points.i don't think the Slate offers rewards similar to that of the Freedom.
