Re: Chase updated my Amazon visa to a visa sign?

Mine was apparently upgraded as well (according to Credit Karma anyway, haven't talked to support or gotten a notice). I've been planning to close the card and roll the limit into my Freedom, which I'll probably still do I suppose, but they're making it difficult! If it really has been upgraded it'll be my only Signature card. It's a 2k limit though and I just don't use it (Prime store card is better, plus Discover and Freedom categories).

Have you checked your freedom?  Maybe if ask, they upgrade.  They auto upgraded my Freedom, not Amazon (from what I could tell, I closed the Amazon and moved to Freedom before I knew it had been upgraded).

Signature needs updating

Everyone's priorities are different but I don't know that it's woth keeping a card just because of the Signature thing. It's not going to make it useful if it otherwise isn't useful. YMMV.

My chase Amazon Rewards just upgraded too. I only have a 1000 CL, I was pretty surprised!
I do push the card alot and am constantly paying down 2-3 times per month because I'm big on Amazon and that's my main card there.

Congrats to you!

Funny part is that I don't use the card really. I haven't used it in months and only used it every few months to keep it active.

I don't get what's the point of them upgrading you to Visa Signature with $1000 CL and not increasing your credit limit....... lenders man....

Cards with the 'Signature' designation charge the merchant a higher swipe fee than a 'Platinum' level card.

It's all about the $$$.  Smiley Wink

Presumably there must also be some cost-disincentive for the issuer, as otherwise we would see all cards being issued as Visa Sig/WEMC so the issuers can get the higher swipe.   Especially as they don't really need to provide all the benefits (e.g. flex on Citi DC for some).

But I guess we are seeing more and more of this, so I guess swipe fees must outweigh the additional cost.

My Thank you card at approval was a Visa plat and has flexible spending. Now its a WMC with Flexible spending.

Re: Chase updated my Amazon visa to a visa sign?

I've been following this wondering why I didn't make the cut, and this morning I got the email that my Amazon Visa has been upgraded to Signature.  No CLI, though.
