I made a payment to the last of my closed accounts today. My current balance indicated online was ~$736, but as interest is accruing, I wanted to know the payoff balance if I scheduled a payment online. I wanted this account to be completely done with this account and not have to wait on another reporting cycle after a small balance posted for interest next month. I was surprised that Chase would not provide me with that information. No big deal, I just mailed them a check and included a little extra to cover the interest. Didn't want to miscalculate, so I added a couple extra dollars; they can issue me a refund for the amount I overpaid. I've been able to get this information from other CCCs in the past. Just found it odd that Chase wouldn't provide it.
I now have only a $14.92 balance on my Cap One card that I am going to let post and then PIF and my normal monthly spending on my Amex PR Gold which I obviously PIF every month. Looking forward to what I hope will be a fairly significant score increase. I'm hoping this will put my EQ into 700+ range.
