Re: Citi AA card - what would you do?

Thank you for everyone's reply.

I think I know what needs to be done here and I certainly won't lose sleep if Citi gives away a free 5k AA miles Smiley Happy

shols44 - THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting that article.

So I called the retention number stickied up top and spoke to a really nice gentleman on the phone.

Just basically said I would like to cancel and got offered the following:

1) $95 statement credit to hit within 2 billing cycles

2) If I spend $1K per month, I'll get 1K AA miles for 16 billing statements

Good stuff Smiley Happy

It's been widely known that Citi gives a retention bonus to keep you with their card.

Glad to know it worked out for you!

Was the offer for both? Waived fee + 16K miles.

Total CL - 60K // Util. ~1.6%

772 TU - 6/5 ///// 705 EX - 5/5 ///// 664 EQ - 4/29

Re: Citi AA card - what would you do?

Citi is good with retention offers for the first AF. However, after the second AF, they usually offer something minimal (ex. 3k miles) or nothing at all.
