Citi AAdvantage

I'm looking to apply for this card in the near future, can anyone tell me roughly what scores they look for? I'm at 667 with TU and EQ, and 647 on EX. Would anyone have any other "travel" card recommendations? Thanks!

Re: Citi AAdvantage

If I'm not mistaken Citi sometimes pulls double pulls EX and EQ. Your scores may be low for this card but you could check to see if anything comes up in Citi prequals. They would probably want about a 680+. Also, what about this card attracts you? What are you looking for in a travel card?

Re: Citi AAdvantage

Thanks! I like flying American and the fact that you can get one bag checked per person in your party for free. Also the 50k points offer is pretty good, I think. I'm looking to do more traveling in the next year or so, so this card seems like it would be a good fit for me.

Re: Citi AAdvantage

I got this card with a 680, great card. average flights are 12,500 points. Free first checked bag and you get the priority security line and group 1 boarding.

Congratulations on the approval, that's a good data point.

Yes, you get first checked bag free and "group 1 boarding" which is after 3 or 4 other higher tier groups go. Better than the cattle call, but not quite the same sequence as Delta, from my experience.

The priority security line, as far as I know is not a direct feature of the AAdvantage Platinum card. Sometimes these come up randomly, the airlines seem to have some percentage of non-Trusted Travellers they can bump to the TSA Pre Check line, just to give you a taste, but by itself I don't think this card gets you in that line.
