Citi App Question

I apped online last night for the Citi Simplicity card.  Got the pending review or we need further time to process the application, can't remember!  Called this morning and the CSR said the app was still pending with no decision yet.  Any thoughts on this?  Is it a probable approval or denial?

Your application may need manual review, and I guess there was not any credit specialist available last night or today. So I can't say it will be denied or accepted

Yeah, the CSR said something about it with an Account Specialist.  Whatever that means!  If anyone else has gone through this, let me know!

Not sure if this helps too much, but when I applied for my 1st Citi Card (student) 4 years ago, I did not get an instant approval either. I was at first mistakenly denied (they somehow mixed up my SSN with someone elses) and then approved! Now, I have perfect payment history with them and went from a measly $500 limit to a very healthy $10,000 limit. So, maybe yours just needs a manual review.
