Citi CLI success, soft pull

Just hit the 6 month mark with my newest Citi card (Diamond Preferred), so I called in for CLI. Told her I didn't want a HP. She said she would let me know if it was necessary. Requested 5k from 3,700. She said I am eligible for 5,300, do I accept? Of course I do!

So I recommend calling for Citi CLI. With other cards I have with them, I did get HP online sometimes when I requested CLI. Better call and be safe than sorry!

+1...I applied for an increase online yesterday on my dividend card, and not only was it a hard pull, but I was also denied...hind sight is 20/20 - lesson learned!

I thought people said that applying for a CLI online was the best way to avoid a HP. o.O

Did they HP you straight away, or did they come back with a counteroffer and you refused it?

Hard pull right away for me, and no counter offer. I was advised that it would require a hard pull, but since my reports were frozen, I didn't think it would go through...I was wrong...
