Instead of doing a BT the old way like telling Citi I want to transfer my balance from say Chase Account 1234 5678 9012 1234  you can deposit a Check into your account or use it to purchase something and it will be a Balance Transfer and not a Cash Advance. You wont be paying the Cash Advance APR% and wont be paying interest day one

Citi and their BT Checks offers are one of the major factors that led me to take so many low APR checks leading up to the credit bubble. At that time, though, the offers were Forever low APR, not expiring like these are.

High Bal Jan 2009 $116k on $146k limits 80% Util.
Oct 2014 $46k on $127k 36% util EQ 722 TU 727 EX 727
April 2018 $18k on $344k 5% util EQ 806 TU 810 EX 812
Jan 2019 $7.6k on $360k EQ 832 TU 839 EX 831
March 2021 $33k on $312k EQ 796 TU 798 EX 801
May 2021 Paid all Installments and Mortgages, one new Mortgage EQ 761 TY 774 EX 777
April 2022 EQ=811 TU=807 EX=805 - TU VS 3.0 765

No. Wait until you have card and check for cli. if it says what i put about in image. don't do it. they may turn you down like they did me. too many recent accounts. But the Bt is easy. it is cash from your card. But with 0 percent apr. and you can pay whoever you want. not just other credit cards. with no interest. Free use of their money with no penalty.

Honestly I would and close that card ASAP. You might be paying the BT fee but I would steer clear from that card if you have a Capital one card.
Just a FYI you would have to do it the other way where you tell them what account and etc. They take up to 4-6 weeks or something

No. Venture is not 0 percent interest. You only Bt to no interest cards. Citi has  a 3 percent transfer fee. So if 3 percent is less than what you are paying on interest. then good. But many cards have no transfer fee.like my Cu. But they have low apr. like nbr said. low is good. but 0 percent is best.

+1

I have been approved the 3 times I asked for a CLI right after getting the cards but that was because my EQ report was pretty much empty.
