I just checked and I got my Citi Costco card exactly 4 years post file date. Took a single EX pull and was instant approval. Every time I request a CLI it’s a decline, only reason BK. @morgacj2004 was also approved but is very close to me in d/c length.
Yeah Scupra I remember reading yours and morgacj2004's approval with citi back then that really motivated me to app but no dice. I think you guys still hold the record in getting in with citi with bk still reporting.
Thanks for the advice. I think I'll continue to garden and wait for those time periods before applying with Amex and Citi.
Do you think applying for the Citi secured card after 2 years will help me get the Costco card sooner? I spend a lot of money at Costco and would really benefit from the card. I would hate to apply for a secured card after already establishing good unsecured credit, but if it will help me get in sooner with Citi I think it will be worth it.
Just to give another data point, I got my Costco Citi about three and a half years after my chapter 7 was filed. Almost three years if you go by the discharge date. I was also approved for $8.5k. I am never eligible for CLIs though, as I get a letter saying it's due to the bankruptcy on my report.
I just approved Citi Costco - 3 years after my BK for $5.5k. They pulled TU in PA .Fico TU 670ish with 3 lates on my TU profile.

Has anyone been approved for the Citi Costco or Amex BCP cards 2 years after bk7? My discharge will be 2 years old in May 2018, and I was going to apply for the card at that point. My credit is clean since the discharge with deep credit files. I'm hoping my long history and clean credit before and after the bk will help my chances. I've never had cards with Citi or Amex.
Thanks for your advice.
I got my Costco card about 25 months post discharge, SL $5,500. However, I can't get an SP CLI due to the BK an no success with any other Citi products even with recon. My better half was approved in Feb for the Blue Cash for $2,000, just shy of 4 years post discharge. She did not include AMEX in her BK. Also, she can't get a SP CLI due to the BK.
