Ok, I was to only read and digest others stories, tips, and knowledge on this site. I thought I was doing good in Oct when I was approved for AMEX Zync, Cap1, Discover More, and Citi Plat Select. I tried for Barclay NFL, Chase Marriott, Lowes, no love from them. So, I have my eyes set on the Diamond Preferred and notice that there were others who was talking about it. After reading it, I decided to give it a shot...cha-ching, I was approved.
Ok, the cl is $2600, but I can grow with this card since I heard that the bi-annual cli is pretty good. What a way to end the year. And my score dropped from 701 (AMEX) in Oct to 694 (Citibank) Experian.
Disregard the credit score from Citi...they range goes from 250 to 900. I will stick to my score from AMEX...
I have roughly between 9-12 inquire on Experian. I just called the csr to review some phone numbers and occupation, but again, he told me the same thing that was said on the website, approve.
If you was to ask me last year about credit cards, I would have got into my dave ramsey batmobile and chase you down. But after coming to this website and learning about all the parts of credit, mortgages, and other forums, I needed to move away from DR and re-learn the "Art of Credit". If big and small business operate off of credit, then I needed to get smart now.
I will use this card for lunch or dinner, but will be SD. I have it mainly to increase my utilization...
Congrats on the approval....what state are you in that Citi pulled Experian for you?
It was pulled using my florida address...

@Anonymous's funny as all..... thanks for the laugh. I've been on the fence on this card because of inquiries, I have 3 new on EX and didn't want the decline. Also, because of my intent to purchase a house at the end of next year, I want to get any inquires before the end of this year. Anyway... because of your post, I went ahead and pulled the trigger. APPROVED! $8000 Limit @ 12.99% / 0% for 18 months for purchases and BT. YEAH! Thanks for your input! It's greatly appreciated.
WOW, 8K..I am so happy for you. I am in the business of buying a house early next year, so I might as well get all of the app itching out now, since I will be in app "hibernation" the next six months. Great on you for apping. I also hear that the card look real nice...
Thanks! KUDOS to you! I probably wouldn't have applied if I hadn't of read your thread! I love MyFICO forums. Put up a question yesterday about Citi and this card and didn't get one response, so I thought maybe there wasn't a lot of experience with this card.
