Hey all... So I decided to apply for the forward card bc I am younger and do spend a lot of money going out and such. I used an invitation number I got and got a $3200 CL. I really wanted it to be higher bc I want to transfer a lot of my highest interest rate cards, but I'll take it. I am now actually thinking about applying for either BoA credit card or a nationwide. Any advise? I basically want to transfer my balances to 0% cards bc the rate is killing me. The 3200 from citi wasn't enough. I need like another 2k.
I would like to have a card over 10k someday....
CONGRATS!
i am waiting another 3 weeks or so to get some balances down before applying. they sent me an invitation as well which is good until 9/15.
but the BT offer is better on the platinum select, so i'm kind of torn about what to apply for. wish my baddies fell off this year!!
I was in the exact same boat as you! I couldn't decide on whether to get the Plat. or the forward. Now that I got my forward I wish I applied for the plat. However I got a balance transfer rate of only 3% compared to 5% with the plat. And that was the main reason why I wanted the card. I just wanted it higher! But maybe they will give me a CLI if I am good.
may i ask what your scores are? someone just recently applied for the platinum select (for balance transfers) with a good history & only got $1k.
Eq score is 744
Congrats on the card. In terms of higher limits, look at some credit unions. They're typically a little more generous than the big commercial banks.
There are several threads with recommendations... Alliant/USAA are pretty easy to qualify for.... Navy Federal is an excellent choice as well if you can qualify for membership.
