I live in CA and I believe they pull EX here.  My history on EX goes back to 1981.  I'm just not sure if it will be worth the inquiry based on what

everyone has said on here regarding the inquiry issue with Citibank or not.  I have no derogs of any kind of my bureaus and most of my cards have

0 balances reporting as I usually PIF before the statement cuts.  I do like the rewards program for this card though and that is why it's tempting.

To be very clear in this regard I am in FL and they pulled EX for my app in December 2008.

I actually joined today, pulled my report/score (EQ-691) --- no credit cards, only student loans --- so I figured it was about time to open a credit card and decided to apply for the Citi Forward Visa.

I had zero previous inquiries, zero missed payments, oldest acct only 5 years and ~$80k reported outstanding.

After verifying the info I was instantly approved for $2.5k credit line and was even given my acct# instantly (along with a temporary exp date, security code and available $500) if I needed to make any online purchases with my acct before the plastic arrives. 

BTW they pulled EX report too - I'm in PA

Pretty painless process - hope this helps anyone who had questions about approval.

Side note: Most of the student loan debt is thru Citi also

It's awesome this site does not show any  of what any one has typed! And that EQUIFAX is pulled i got to not only waste my time here but on the phone as well.  I doubt any one looking for genuine information will see our posts from a standard google search of "citi forward credit inquiry"
