I have the Citi Best Buy credit card- will Citi consider my credit history with their Citi BB card if I were to apply for their Citi Hilton Honors card?
Bumping this post.....I am in the same situation, and have the same question. I have a feeling you guys will say that having the BB card won't affect the credit decision on the HHonors card, but here's to hoping, right?
Has anyone had experience in this situation?
thanks S73 - I have been on the fence about apping - I was waiting to request a CLI with NFCU and I got approved yesterday - I may call this evening - I had success calling to get approved for the Barclay Arrival card....

It really depends on the UW requirements for that particular card. Just because you have another Citi-backed card doesn't guarantee they will give you another.
A good history with Citi certainly cannot hurt, but no idea if they do internal scores or not (like AMEX). I would check whogavemecredit or other sites like that to see what scores are getting approvals.
Good luck!
If you have another Citi card that you have treated well, I can only imagine that it will be beneficial to you when apping for another Citi card. I know that most banks weigh your relationhip with them as a factor during applications.

+1. There has been anecdotal evidence on here that once you're in, you're in and the rest of the Citi cards are cake. Of course nothing is a guarantee but thats what users have reported.
Also, I would imagine that most major or "prime" lenders have their own internal scoring models

Yes exactly. It was been widely reported around here that Chase, for example, seems to value their relationship with pre-existing customers in good standing. People who have had a clean checking account with them for a while report successes with them. No hard numbers or people to quote or anything, but still.

Congrats on the CLI and the approval for the Arrival card. That's a good card...I have it too. I like that there are no blackout periods or restrictions on the travel carrier that you can use.
Thanks DW, NewGuy, & Shock. Well, maybe I have some hope then. I'm going to tend to my Best Buy relationship with Citi for a little longer before apping for a card with them, and let a few inquiries fall off (by November I'll be down to only 2).
