Are there any real benefits of the World Elite Mastercard over the World Mastercard? Maybe I should have just stayed with my Citi Platinum Select Mastercard instead of switching to the Dividends, to eventually get the Elite?
It's not much of a benefit and the majority of the World Elite offers are high end traveled related benefits for free business class companion tickets or some additional amenities at luxury hotels. However Citi Dividend World MasterCard is a great card, much better than the Citi Platinum Select. So enjoy your cashback and rotating offers. There is a World Elite version of Citi Platinum Select, so chances are if you didn't qualify for that you aren't eligible for the Dividend World Elite either :/

I didn't know that there was a World Elite version of the Citi Platinum Select. I had tried searching online, but only came up with a Dividend Platimum Selec World Elite (which I understand to be different thant the Platinum Select). The representative that I spoke with on the phone told me that there wasn't a World Elite version. Do you know if it has an annual fee?
The World Elite version of a card doesn't cause an AF to be added if the original product doesn't have one. There is no such card as a Citi Dividend Platinum Select World Elite, it is one or the other. The Citi Platinum Select World Elite MasterCard does exist, a few people have it and someone even posted a photo of it.
I found a picture of it!!!
+1. WEMC benefits are tailored towards high end travel, and if you don't use them then you probably won't notice much of a difference. I use the WEMC benefits a few times a year and have found them useful.
