I just received a pre-selected mailer from Citi and was wondering if they provide a decent shot at approval. It has a fixed APR of 16.24%. Are they like other preapproved/preselected mailers where if they have a fixed APR then you are pretty golden? I'm just a little skeptical since I applied (and was denied) for their Thankyou Premier card about 9 months ago and it showed my score as 524 out of a 999 scale - which is a little crazy since my FICO 08's are 720-730 across the board.

The consensus on this forum is that Citi's preapprovals are solid.

The wierd thing is that I received the mailer that is "pre-selected". When I go to the website and check for pre-approved offers, it does not come up saying that I am actually "pre-approved". Is their mailer "pre-selected" the same as the preapproval you are talking about?
And a big question is why you would want this card. If you can get one of the 2% cards, they will be better

0% APR for 18 months and no annual fee - plus it provides points But yes, the thankyou point rewards structure appears less than appealing. I may wait until there is a sign up bonus attached.
