A little known secret is that many lenders are SP'ing you. If you're "turned down for credit" or "not given the best terms", usually you're entitled to a copy of the report that was used for that decision.
I don't believe the credit bureau(s) really distinguish between a SP and a HP for determining if you qualify for the free credit report for the reasons above. ;-)
