Hi.. I went on a spree recently and more than doubled my CLs but also hurt my AAoA and added alot of inquiries. I told myself I was going to wait a year before apping for new cards, just do CLI on my 3 new GE store cards I go t thsi month (amazon, walmart and dillards) and pay off blances. I am about 45% but activily paying down. CreditKarma says I have 10 inquiries, but I bought a 3 in 1 report and thats probably adding up all 3 agencies. because experian has 5 but equifax has 3 and transunion 8.
I have had the Citi Diamond Prefered for a few years and never had issues.. They will NOT raise my limit though because of high utilization and the last few medical baddies that will be falling off by this time next year (3 total) and besides those 3, everything is perfect pyment history. They have raised my limit a few humndred here and there since I had it but its still pretty low.
I also have the BestBuy Store card just approved this month for $2000 and its through Citi.
My credit is getting better every day almost because of alot of baddies finally falling off in adition to my CLS raising slowly and perfect payments and new cards, BUT I am worried about another inquiry and worried if they wont raise me on the Diamond Preferted (which I am not sure how I was approved for it to start with back then..lol) then why would they approve me for anopther one?
Do they send the invites to everyone of their customers? is the Invite to apply a pre approval? It doesnt say that but do they soft pull before they send them out?
I really would like another VISA/MC would love to have the balance tranfer option of this card to put about half my balances onto and pay off the rest.
Is it worth the risk? Any exsperience? TAHNK YOU!!!
I would go to citicards.com and run the pre-qual there... if you get an offer for credit from that then I would say go for it... but from email... no.
I just did and it said it could not find any that I was prequialified for but found four I may be interested in..
This card was very recently discussed here:

A few different opinions (mine and wrong ones!)
I may pass.. I really need to garden and let my CL increase on other cards and toehr stuff to fall off and pay down my balances and let my scores rise! I really want the Amex Delta gold, and the AADVANATGE Citi cards for some reason. SO I will just wait..
I got the email offer today to after the recent discussion about it I still don't see myself app'ing. They are now offering 250 points after $1500 spend instead of 200 points. I just don't think the points will be much value to me.
I have a TYP I got after several PCs from my old Citi Platinum. Its alright, I mainly use it for the sketchy places, because Citi has been very responsive to fraud.
One other cool thing was that after I had the card for a while. I got a BT offer for 0% apr on the BT and New Purchases for a whole year after the BT, all I had to pay was a 3% fee on the BT. Dont know if that's targeted or not.
In the end I did not apply after looking on their site and seeing I was NOT Pre Approved. I went a few other places and checked and saw I was pre approved for Discover it, so I applied and was approved , but the higher APR and not the 0% BT offer... $1200 limit.. I accepted (had to call to find out the limit) we will see what happens with it... I now HAVE TO garden for a year!!! PERIOD! 6 new accounts in 2 months.. BUT I did go from Available credit of $4200 to $13,300. Not anywhere NEAR where I want to be (and wont get there if I keep applying) but its a great start! I will now watch things grow (hopefully) and pay everything off!!
