Does it have foreign transaction fee? How is citi's customer service? Can you set up auto pay statement balance online? Thank you in advance!
Yes, it has a FTF
Customer Service isn't great, standard to slightly below for a big bank
Yes on auto pay.
But in general, I don't recommend this card in its standard form (i.e. not x5). It's basically a 1x card now with a few 2x categories, and the redemption scheme is unfriendly (getting cash or statement credit is less than 1:1, and the other options, such as gift cards, are limited). Something like quicksilver seems better.

Is Capital One a subprime lender? Will it affect other lenders' decisions when they review my CRs if they see a C1 account?
My cap1 account was my first real CC and since then I have gotten numerous prime cards. So, IMO, I would say it does not make you look bad.
Alternatively you could get the BANKAMERICARD TRAVEL REWARDS® CREDIT CARD
Has no ftf

That card is probably good to have in the arsenal due to the lack of fees and generous limits.
I think the TYP is gets the 1:1 ratio on gift cards. I get it.

Yes, the TYP is 1:1 on everything except for cash/statement credit. Gift cards are limited.
There is at least one good case where getting the TYP makes sense, and that is if you have the Forward. TYP then makes all the points 1:1
