Does anyone know what CRA Citi pulls for new apps? Also, any idea on their requirements?
I'm mostly curious about the UPromise Mastercard. They are offering 0% for 12 mo on balance transfers, which would be fantastic.

treski - you're on the right track. However, I'd wait until I got to a 650 or 660 before applying.
I don't suppose you know if they are tolerant to baddies?? I still have 3 collections and 2 charge-off ... all paid and all stubbornly staying put, despite my efforts.

Hmm. I wonder what sort of interest rate I'd get with them. My TU hovers right arond 700 (now if I can just get it to go ABOVE that, haha)
I don't need a super high CLI, mostly just interested in a lower rate and the 0% promo on BTs. I've got ~$400 on a department store card with a 22% rate (YUCK) and a small balance on another with 16%. I don't think I'd do it if I couldn't get qualify for the promo. I just bought a car in June though, so maybe I should just put these thoughts out of my head for another 8 months or so ![]()
Wonder if I could call them and find out what I qualify for, and if it's not what I want, don't accept the card and just take the small hit from the inquiry? Bad idea, good idea? I don't really NEED more credit right now, just trying to find a way to stop the bleeding from these high interest rates.

So.. I applied for this card a few days ago. Last night I got an e-mail from them saying --
" Why we're writing you
Thank you for applying for the Citi(R) Upromise(R) Platinum
Select(R) MasterCard(R) account. We are unable to verify some
of the required credit information. To continue
processing your application, please provide the following
documentation:
o Telephone bill copy must be a residential phone bill,
dated within the past 60 days, stating your name, mailing
address and phone number* (Cellular phone bills are
not acceptable) OR utility bill copy, must be dated within
the past 60 days, stating your name and mailing
address. Can be a water, cable, electric, sewer or gas bill.
*If the phone bill is not in your name, you must
also include a copy of a mortgage, bank or credit card
statement, dated within the past 60 days, that clearly
states your name and mailing address. "
Anyways.. I don't have any bills in my name. I recently moved to Fl and am living with family friends. I just changed my credit card bill to come here. However, we live in a condo in a country club and you don't pay any bills. Any idea what I should do? Try calling them? Also, does this mean I'm approved and they just want to verify that its me? Thank you in advance for any advice.
