The biggest shock to me was they said max of $300 redeemed/yr on the new card! Has anyone else heard that? As this is my "catch all" card and I problably will not meet that (UR/SPG for a lot more of my spend), I didn't complain. But if others get this, it could be bad news.
Also - my TYP was an amex. At first, they said they could covert the double cash as an amex - but came back and said they could not, and offered me the conversion to mastercard.
I have 60 days to use my TYPs - had to have them fix my Thankyou account, as I haven't been able to redeem points on their website... their guess was that my card was "compromised" more than a year ago, and although I've received the points (see them on my statement), the website has always shown "not available." So they created a separate Thankyou account, with a new username that has all of my 8k points available for redemtion (and must be used in 60 days).
This is the first I've seen someone mention this. Kind of annoying how it seems like their CSRs all have different information.
How are you going to use your Thank You Points?
Looks like the best deal is one of the gift cards - so it looks like $75 in walmart gift cards it is... at least that is $0.01/point. I hardly shop there, but I guess I can find something.
I have the account linked to amazon as well, and you can use the points at checkout, but the redemption is not good. So I'll use the remaining 511 typoints on an amazon purcahse today, but it looks like about a $0.0075 point redemption... not even $0.01/point. That is the reason this card has been in the SD!
Do you have a student loan/mortgage? You can call to redeem for that, 1 point = 1 cent. You just tell them which bank you have it with (although, they don't actually check themselves, and you can give them any ol' bank), and they send the check directly to you. Many have reported signing the back and depositing into their own account.
Nvm, Simply was ahead of the game XD
Lol daybreak
I just managed to hit post before you did. You did add the helpful info about possibly being able to deposit into a personal account.

Yes, unless you also have a Premier or Prestige, student loan/mortgage loan redemption is the best way. I always deposit into my own account, although I could just put it towards the mortgage and be good!
Although gift cards at usually 1c per point, you can buy gift cards at a discount (e.g. see giftcardgranny) so this is less valuable (and is not cash!)

I was told unlimited (as in the offer details). I would be concerned that they are really switching you to the Dividend or something, which has the $300 limit.

I was a bit worried about that as the CSR did seem to say "dividend cash" - but I didn't know what that was.
I just logged into the Citi website, and it has a popup now after login that says:
"Check the mail for your new Citi Double Cash Card.
Your card will have a new account number ending in xxxx. For your convenience, this new account has already been linked to your User ID.
If it's already arrived, activate it now and enjoy the new features.
Please note: If you have not received your new card(s) by 6/25/2014, call Customer Service at 1-800-950-5114."
I copied that text, and yes - it does say 6/25/2014! That must be a type-o.
So it looks like the PC was to the correct card - maybe the CSR was confused or had the wrong script because she definitely said something about "dividend" when mentioning the $300/yr limit.
Also - when I login, in-place of my Thankyou points section, it has:
Citi Double Cash Card - xxxx Rewards Cash Back Earned: $ 0.00

Did you get another card around Apr - June? When I converted my Premier, in May 2014, my message said something like If you have not received your new card by 4/5/2013 .... which was the date that Citi had last sent me a card!
Glad the website shows it is the double cash.

No, this is my only Citi card that I've had since 2010 - it was a diamond preferred card that had thank you points and citi converted to a TYP card at some point. It has been compromised twice and had to be replaced. Citi was the one who found out it was compromised before it ever showed up in a statement (or even online) so no real complaints. But that was 2 years ago I think within a 3 month timeframe replaced twice.
LTL - I see what you mean now and yes, I probably got a replacement around that time. Citi was going to send me an EMV card, but they sent me one without EMV. I didn't care because it has a FTF and I have others with EMV that do not. So I just left it alone.
Converted my Dividend to the double cash card this morning with no issues. Also got an unsolicited CLI, which was great since I was denied in August. Of course, I forgot to ask how much the CLI was, and now the Citi site is being screwy. Oh well, I assume I'll find out sometime between now and when I get the card.
I'm excited to get better rewards than on my current card (never really made much use of the rotating 5% categories)!
