Citi painless PC

Well, I don't know if it's technically a PC, but they switched my Dividend Visa to a MasterCard with no hassle, after Chase said they couldn't do it (which I know is bs). I was all set to PC to the Diamond Preferred card, but at the last second she asked me why and I said the main reason was because it's a MasterCard and I don't have any MasterCards, then she said oh well we can switch your Visa to a MC and you can keep your rewards! Sweeeet!

Just another reason to love Citi.

Oh and I called the retention department number listed in the backdoor thread. :-) My card should be here in 5 to 7 days.

Opened the card in November of 2011. I would say most places want you to be at least a year until they PC you, but there's no harm in trying! I would call that retention number and ask. I got a person immediately (no number to push), a nice American lady who right away started the process. It was a very pleasant experience. Smiley Happy

I got the same thing by telephone. When I sent a secure message I saw a new account online in a few days and a few days after that I had a Chase Freedom Mastercard. I would try secure message if you really want it.

I'm not too worried about it. Chase has been pissing me off recently anyway; meanwhile, Citi has been showing me major love. I'll gladly give Citi my business over Chase.

Re: Citi painless PC

I've tried to PC with Citi, all they can do (per their Twitter team) is change me from Forward to a standard ThankYou card. Umm, no thank you.
