Citi prestige

Thinking about picking up the citi prestige for an upcoming trip. Is the offer in the branch for the card better or is it just different? I probably will just PC the card after the first year, but the benefits makes the AF for the first year worth it IMO.

Re: Citi prestige

In branch offer requires spending an additional 12k for 10k more bonus points. Not worth it imo.

Yea that is what I saw when I searched it. I am inclined to agree with you its not worth all the extra spend. I guess maybe if you were going to keep the card long terms and wanted the reduced AF it might be worth a look.

Re: Citi prestige

I recently applied in branch and got the AF reduced, 30,000 TYP after $3,000 spend, and another 30,000 TYP after $15,000 within 12 months. Then I chatted with a representative and asked to have the offer matched to the public one while still retaining the reduced annual fee. No citigold account required. But I think your luck may vary because I had to ask twice before they agreed to match it. And some branches require the citigold account for $350 AF. I ended up getting the citigold later for some more bonus stuff.
