Citi secured card q & a

Could people who have a citi secured card chime in and let me know if this is a good card, how long and if or not they graduated I unsecured. What kind of cli after graduation and scores before an after and scores if denied and does it help having a citi checking account.

I have a citi checking account. I have a hd card and zales that's backed by citi so hopefully it gets approved had to do it in a branch and was told it takes awhile for a decision.

Any and all replies are appreciated. Just trying to get in the door with all the big banks one way or another. Wish chase had a secured lol can never get approved for them.

Re: Citi secured card q & a

Unlike the 12 month graduation used by other banks, citi has an 18 month graduation. As its not popular, ive not read much abt it here. I got a 1000$ secured citi in mar so just at 6 month mark now with them. Stil another 12 months. U do gt points with the card which i dont use that much (citi easy deals). They took forever for getting the approval, so dont worry. I had a checking before i took the card but closed it az theres no citibank here in Michigan, i now think that was a bad move just not to reduce relationship with the big banks. I think that can b a factor when u recon.

In a committed relationship with Chase from 12/2012.

No... but did you apply for a normal card?

You have many credit cards so I thought you might get approved...

Re: Citi secured card q & a

I did a month or 2 back and got denied for baddies but they all fall off in 8 months and score not high enough. That's why I want to get in with all the big banks anyway I can cause in 8 months no baddies only a bunch of inqs will be holding me down.
