CitiForward and Amazon Kindle

Anyone usa the CitiForward card to buy an amazon kindle and get the 5x$1 bonus points (on books, music, etc.). I've searched the forum and saw that many people have gotten the 5x$1 bonus points at amazon - but, it seems a little inconsistent.
