Citibank CLI HP

Received a CLI yesterday for $3500 taking me from 5K to 8.5K. Looks like it cost me a HP on TU. Oh well, should have gone for more. Didn't think it would cost me an HP since I was denied an increase back in January and June. Both times the denial letters sited EQ and were only SPs.

Re: Citibank CLI HP

From what ive read/heard i thought CITI is very well known for SP CLI's. I wonder why they did a HP? Maybe bc it was too soon since your last requested credit limit increase, so they they decided to do a HP so they could get u the increase u wanted. Im just guessing, heck who really knows?

Re: Citibank CLI HP

Can you tell us your history with Citibank and what your utilization was when you asked for a cli. Did you use it for a BT ? Do you have other cards?

Agree with LS! I have just one Citi issued card which is a sears store card. It's my oldest line and had a measley 800.00 limit from the beginning. Back in April, I needed a new fridge and sears had a 0% offer for 12 months. I called and asked for a CLI. LOL! They approved me for 100.00 with a hard pull. So...I applied at Lowes and got approved for 2400.00 with 0% for 18 months!

Meg.

Re: Citibank CLI HP

I was probably at 80-90% utilization when I requested both previous cli's back in January and June. The letter I got from the decline back in June was generated from an EQ report from April. This time around they pulled TU. Across the board my utilization has gone done. Citibank was my highest limit card up until last month when I got approved for the PSECU/PSL 15K. I also opened an Amex Zync, Amex Gold and Barlclays US Airways 2.5K last month. My EX Fico was at 651 at time of PSECU and Amex Approval. Barclays pulled TU.
