It seems as though Citibank is doing a soft pull on my experian report at least once a week. I wonder why? I have citi Aadvantage Amex, Home Depot, and Sears card, so initially I thought it was just them checking my report. Once a week is a bit much, don't you think?
Sometimes the use that to review your account or send out pre-approval offers
I have never used the sears card, home depot only once for 100 bucks then pif, citi Amex only once for 500 then pif. Maybe they want to see why I haven't used their cards much. Guess I should use them more!

Funny thing is Citi soft pulled me on one of my department store credit cards and then not even 10 days later they closed the account. The place where I got the card from discontinued the program. Same thing happened with my Target Red Card, they did a soft pull and then closed my account due to inactivity.
Like anything, it costs them money just to track an account. (Computer processing/storage time, statements, computer memory, etc.) It is no different than you tracking countless phone numbers in your telephone, just a much larger data base of customers to track.
