I'm completely baffled at this. I'm 27 years old and got my first credit card at age 18. I make 105k per year and pay my credit cards off in full every month. I have a balance of $500 on my Best Buy card due to no interest for 18 months and planned on paying that off next month since it expires in January. I only have a $1,000 limit there and tried for a CLI with only having 1 inquiry in the last year. They sent me a letter denying me due to my payment pattern with them, what the hell is this? My fico scores are EX - 801, EQ - 796, TU - 812. Anyone ever heard of this? I've never missed a payment with them either.
You should just give them a call. With an income like yours and FICO scores through the roof, I don't see why they will not give you an increase.
I thought about that but I just went to the website, paid the card off, and put it through my shredder. I'm just going to use my Credit Union's Mastercard for purchases from there going forward. I however won't close the card

+1, give Cap1 EO a call and see what's going on. Cap1 EO IMO is being pretty good lately.
