Closed Crap 1... Last of my junk!

I just closed this low level cap 1 card.. Only offer they said they could offer me was a 4% intrest rate reduction for 7 months from 21.99 to 17.99 what a joke have had the card for 5 years and limit reached to 1500 and a 39AF... OOo well cutting the junk out of my portfolio only thing i have with a AF is the sapphire preferred but thats worth it!

Good call !   if you have better cards in your wallet then no reason to hang on to it, especially if they won't waive the AF....

Re: Closed Crap 1... Last of my junk!

poker thats the same thing they said to me.... but its not worth three hard pulls really for any of their cards none of their rewards cards are all that great! i apppricate the fact my first card was with them and they gave me a chance but  if you are loyal they just might want to take care of their customers but i guess customer service is not one of their strong suits!!

Re: Closed Crap 1... Last of my junk!

I am going to be closing one of my Cap1 cards when the AF comes due.  I keep wondering what it would take for me to keep the card for another year...

Re: Closed Crap 1... Last of my junk!

I mean if you have better i would.. I was going to hold off till the af was due but it would be my luck i would forget to close it. That was the smallest CL next to my target card i just got and i will just stop using that and see how long it takes them before they close it lol

Congrats on closing it! I am in the same boat with you. AF is $39 and my CL is 500. I am about to call them and tell them to kick rocks myself!

Re: Closed Crap 1... Last of my junk!

Last year I was going to close my Cap1 rewards card when the AF came due, but they increased my limit from 750 to 3750.  After I got out of the hospital from a minor heart attack I paid the AF.  This Jan my Cap1 Plat will be two years old and that $19 AF (plus 750 CL) has it on the chopping block.  I wonder if I would keep it another year if they did a repeat like Rewards card last year...  I do not think I need the extra CL for util.  I just wanted to keep the card for 2 years before I closed it.
