Closing First Premier cards

I called to cancel two First Premier cards with zero balances today. She offered to add credits to both accounts so I accepted. I am thinking about leaving them open until right before the AF comes due. I now have a $30 credit on one and a $36.25 credit on the other. If I close now would they cut a check for the $66.25? Opinions?

I would close them and yes they would cut you a check for whatever is left over after they take fees out.

Re: Closing First Premier cards

What did Jerry MacGuire say????    "Show me the money".    Cut those cards up and demand closure.     Enjoy a decent night out and a movie on First Premier.   Considering the fees you have paid,  you most likely deserve it.

Re: Closing First Premier cards

Haha! I totally understand the hesitance. I have 2 also. Cut one up, was ready to close it, I didnt. Cut the other one up, ready to close both, and they are still open. I don't have either card but am nervous for anymore score fluctuations since I have some big purchases coming up. :/

Re: Closing First Premier cards

I fully intended to close so she offered the credits on both cards. I gave in and did not close. I definately want to close soon though because my AF comes due in Nov and Feb for the other. Maybe you should call and maybe get some of that crazy fee money back, then close. I hope I don't take too big of a hit, one card is 2.5 years old and the other is 1yr old

Re: Closing First Premier cards

Too funny...Both of mine are at the same age. I did call once and couldn't get to a representative. Kept getting the automated lady. I will be closing soon though. I have better cards than that. We'll both be happy when we do!

They will.  I had two also and they owed me money.  Sent checks out asap.  No issues with them at all.

Re: Closing First Premier cards

I'd go ahead and close them out of principle. Why support a system that penalizes you for not using payday loans? 😬

Re: Closing First Premier cards

Close them, take the money and run. Won't hurt them anyway since they already made their money off of you.
