Closing & Reopening(Cap1)

Has anyone ever closed out a starter Capital One card due to it not growing over the years, re-opened the same card later, and get a significantly higher CL?

Yes, I've read that applying for a new card can get you a substantially higher CL. Good luck!

I know some people feel like Capital One cards are no longer worth it once you get prime cards since it'll cost 3 hard pulls. I love the Quick Silver. I love having two of them. Capital One gave me my first start and also gave me a high CLI of 3,000 after completing credit steps on one card. I really want to keep both cards, but as I aim to raise my limits on all cards, I can't have some sittting below 2,000. My aim is to have all cards at 5-10,000. It just "looks" more "uniform" rather than having limits all over the place. I'll see what they do in the next year for me as far as raising this limit! Then go from there.

See if you can ask for a CLI online or call them up. CLIs are always SP with Cap One.

I've gotten CLIs online and through the EO. 

First Cap went from 500 > 3,500(credit steps) > 4,000(EO)

Second Cap went from 500 > 750(credit steps) > 1,250(Luv Button).

Even with CLIs, the second card, specifically, is looking paltry.
