Is this basically the same thing in a sense? Or is there a difference?
A cosigner your both responsible for the bill an authorized user on an account isn't.
Ok makes sense
How about as far as Credit goes? Does a Co-signer advantage over a AU?

Yes some creditors when applying don't recognize AU accounts.
Ok thanks I'll be sure to ask before adding. Say I get added on as a AU on a account thats been established for 5 years, if the company reports to my credit aswell would it hurt me if previously the person had a Utl of 50%?
I had her bring it down to 20% now, but for the life of the account it has always been a high Uti rate.
Whether an AU or the account holder current utilization is what matters.
So it doesn't go by the past?
