Combining available credit limit(s) onto one card...

Of the major companies, who lets you do this? I know Chase does because I just took three Chase cards and combined the limits onto one card and kept $500 available credit on the others to keep them open.

Off the top of my head, I know that AmEx (easy to do in your online account) and Bank of America also allow this (BOA is a HP to do so from what I have read here). Capital One also allows you to combine and close, but not sure about just moving a portion of the limit.

Citi won't let you combine and close. I was interested in getting the Double Cash card and closing my Citi Forward card. I asked twice and they said no both times.

I also asked to change cards, which they declined. They only allow that if the cards have the same rewards program, e.g. TY Premier to TY Preferred.
