It's not that easy trant. I'm not necessarily singing Barclays praises by any means, BUT, they do serve a purpose for rebuilders. I've had the Barclays RMC for almost 3 years. Amex won't even spit in my direction.
It's mediocre compared to what's out there. It's essentially a Barclay Rewards card with a lower redemption threshold, and that's a mediocre offering, too. It may not be a bad option if you need to PC. i also really like how rewards post so quickly with Barclay...i wish AMEX was half as fast! So maybe it's good if you do category spend and want rewards to post quickly. Aside from that, there are other options that might cover far more options.

I said the card is trash based on its rewards program not because of the audience it appeals to. (its not a rebuilder card by no means)
Like others the Commence card replaced my beloved Sallie Mae.
I use mine for HH utilities to keep it active. I've rec'd some nice BT offers too, but I probably won't use them. Like others have stated, I like that the rewards post immediately.
I don't have a SL so I can't speak on the redemption process.
Best wishes on your credit journey!
My thought right now based on everyone's replies is to wait a few more months when I hit the year mark and see if Discover will shine some love upon me. Amex, Chase, and Citi are out of the question for a few more years. I need to sit back and wait for something better and I will. I need to remind myself that I AM doing something toward rebuilding by just using my cards and paying. Very "unsexy" but gotta keep my eyes on the prize of a mortgage at a good rate in a year and half. Thanks all for your assistance!
I hate it. I had a SM card and I like that one. I already get 2% on utilities with my Barclay Cash Rewards card so this card has no benefit to me what so ever.
I refuse to swipe it since it was converted. Ugh, I miss Sallie.
