What about American Express for Target? Does this fall under any of the categories listed?

No ... It's a pre-paid card. It does not show up on your credit reports.

Another drop in the bucket then.  Just can't win. (off to peruse some more on why pre-paid cards even matter)

Re: Comprehensive list of American Express credit cards

Two more discontinued cards would be IN NYC and American Express ONE.   Had both cards from AMEX. Cancelled mine but some folks still have their cards. OPTIMA also had a Platinum version when first issued as a true revolver.

Thanks for your input, MSinTX. I've never heard of those two cards; they must have been out of circulation for a while. Are they all credit cards?

Re: Comprehensive list of American Express credit cards

Hi, The American Express ONE card was a credit card that had a savings account in place of cash back.

The IN NYC card that I had was a charge card that had the "carry a balance" option.  The IN NYC type card was issued to folks in NY and there were also  IN LA cards for California and IN CHICAGO cards for Illinois.  These cards were geared towards the big city shoppers that appeared younger in all the ads perhaps like a Zync card but city specific.   Not very popular and did not survive long.

Here's a look at the NYC and LA cards:

The IN NYC review posted is fairly recent according to the update, must have been a stinker of a card!  Clicked on the "apply now" button to see what would happen, got a message that the card is no longer offered.

And here's a look at the ONE card, still comes up on their website:

Diners Club Premier MasterCard $50K / AMEX Gold NPSL / AMEX Zync NPSL / AMEX Blue Cash Preferred $14K / Bank of America Cash Rewards Signature Visa $15K / Merrill Lynch Plus Signature Visa $15K / Wells Fargo Propel 365 $15K / Chase Sapphire Preferred Signature Visa $10K / J P Morgan Select Signature Visa $10K / Chase Slate Visa $6K / CITI Diamond Preferred MasterCard $13.2K / Discover IT $10.5K / IberiaBank Select Visa $8K / 1st Command Bank Platinum Visa $7.5K // Home Depot $9.7K / Lowes $10K

The Ameriprise Platinum doesn't seem to have any Ameriprise branding but it has bonus MR points that aren't available with the standard Platinum:
